Joshua Schreier grew up near Hartford, CT and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2007 where he now works as an Academic Assistant. He is currently the Media Relations Representative at the Connecticut Coalition to Save Darfur, a member of the Genocide Intervention Network, and an active organizer and advocate for human rights. Josh first became interested in working to prevent genocide around the Rwandan genocide and its aftermath and currently is applying to law schools with strong programs in human rights and international law. It remains difficult for him to comprehend the difference between his own life in the United States and the tremendous suffering of the thousands of people being murdered every day on other continents, and he is unwilling to accept anything other than a robust US foreign policy around genocide and mass atrocity. In pursuit of human dignity and equal protections for all people, Josh is eager to begin his work as a Carl Wilkens Fellow.
